<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate designing and manufacturing of a microlens substrate, and to display a high-quality image in an electro-optical device. <P>SOLUTION: The microlens substrate includes a condenser lens face (310) which is provided on a substrate for each of a plurality of pixels and on which a plurality of condenser lenses for condensing incoming light are arranged, and a diffusion lens face (320) which is provided for each of a plurality of pixels and on which a plurality of diffusion lenses for diffusing the incoming light are arranged.
