PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine abnormality in the position of an own vehicle that an onboard device of a vehicle has autonomously at a road side. SOLUTION: A position determination system determines abnormality in the position of an own vehicle that the onboard device 2 of a vehicle 5 corresponding to both of optical wireless communication and radio wave wireless communication has autonomously at a road side. In the system, a passage position X0 of the vehicle 5 to a communication area A of a beacon head 8 is identified at a road side, based on uplink light UO transmitted to the beacon head 8 by the onboard device 2, and utilizes the identified passage position X0 of the vehicle 5 to determine, at a road side, whether an own vehicle position X1 of the vehicle 5 included in a radio wave signal S5 transmitted by the onboard device 2 after optical wireless communication with the beacon head 8 is abnormal.
