<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demolition method of a steel pipe single pole steel tower for power transmission dispensing with a foundation for a lift-down frame and dispensing with welding of a hanging piece for lift-down, in demolition of an existing steel tower by a lift-down method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Demolition is carried out by sequentially repeating steps of mounting a support frame 10 supporting a guide tower 21 of a lift-down apparatus 20, to a lowermost tower body 1A of the existing steel tower, installing the lift-down apparatus 20 on the support frame 10, separating the lowermost tower body 1A from an upper tower body 1B by cutting, and then inserting a conveying truck 30 between the lowermost tower body 1A and the upper tower body 1B; placing the upper tower body 1B on the conveying truck 30 by lift-down; cutting the upper tower body 1B in a cutting position above the conveying truck 30 to separate a unit tower body 1U from the lower part; and taking out the conveying truck 30 mounted with the unit tower body 1U, to the outside of a guide tower 21 and removing the unit tower body 1U from the conveying truck 30.
