<p>An information providing device (100) comprises an MERS (30) which is connected between an illumination lamp (60) having an inductive load and an AC voltage source (20) and adjusts load power which is supplied from the AC voltage source (20) to the illumination lamp (60) and lights the illumination lamp (60), a dimming control portion (70) for controlling the MERS (30), and an operation switch (80) for instructing dimming to the dimming control portion (70). The dimming control portion (70) controls the MERS (30) so that it adjusts the load power to change the luminance of the illumination lamp (60) while maintaining the lighting state of the illumination lamp (60) in response to the instruction from the operation switch (80) and provides visual information by changing the luminance of the illumination lamp (60).</p>
