<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for effectively coping with differences in terms of various printing properties, thereby printing an image of appropriate image quality, and also, prolonging the lives of a developing roller and other consumables. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: a normal printing mode to assumedly print an image in all the printable area of a paper; and a limited printing mode to assumedly print an image in a limited area with respect to the paper feeding direction. When printing the image in the limited printing mode, the controller 120 of the image forming apparatus 100 stops the rotational drive of the developing roller 111 in a non-printing area as an area other than the limited area, accordingly, stops the operations of the image forming parts 109 and 110 to develop the image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
