<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for developing information in a roadside device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The communication system comprises a roadside device 1 and an on-vehicle device 2. A driving support ECU 20 of the on-vehicle device 2 includes an inter-vehicle communication part 23 which acquires information for an obstacle detected by a preceding vehicle M2 and a road-to-vehicle communication part 21 which transmits the acquired information on the obstacle to the roadside device 1. The information on the obstacle detected by the preceding vehicle M2 is provided to the roadside device 1 through the following vehicle M3, whereby information in the roadside device 1 can be increased in volume and updated.
