PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor preventing dew condensation in its gas detection element. SOLUTION: A hydrogen sensor 1 has the gas detection element 31 for detecting gas, an element housing part having a gas detecting chamber 25 in which the gas is taken and housing the gas detection element 31 attached to the inner wall surface of the gas detecting chamber 25, a gas flowing part 43 for allowing the gas to flow through the element housing part, and the heater 51 provided along the inner wall surface of the gas detecting chamber 25 to heat the inside of the gas detecting chamber 25 and is characterized by providing an obstruction member 61 having a flowing hole 61a allowing the gas to flow to the gas detection element 31 between the gas detection element 31 and the gas flowing part 43 and obstructing the direct impingement of the gas passed through the gas flowing part 43 against the gas detection element 31.
