<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which is used for a fixing device of an induction heat generation system and is improved in durability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fixing device 56 which is used for the fixing device of an induction heat generation system, includes a composite metal layer laminated of three or more layers (an oxidation preventing layer 513, a simulant main heat generating layer 514, a heat generation control layer 515, a main heat generation layer 516, and an oxidation preventing layer 517). The thermal expansion rate and film thickness of each of the layers of the composite metal layer are adjusted so that the bimetal effects inside and outside a belt rotating path caused by differences between the respective layers in the amount of thermal expansion are negated mutually.
