<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal detection device and a signal detection program for detecting a signal with high accuracy which is generated by a large Barkhausen effect, due to existence of a magnetic substance in an alternating magnetic field. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The signal detected with a detection coil 3 is amplified with an amplifier 5; out of the detection signal digitized with an ADC 7 a detection signal in a specific time is acquired; the acquired detection signal is compared with a reference value to determine whether to be smaller than the reference value; it is confirmed whether that comparison result is acquired continuously; and when it is confirmed that comparison results representing that detection signals are not smaller than the reference value have been acquired a predetermined number of times continuously, the detection signals are determined to contain signals generated by the large Barkhausen effect.
