SOLUTION: A movement adaptive noise reduction device includes: a frame memory 2; a mixing control part 3 which mixes a current image signal PS(f) and a previous image signal PS(f-1) in accordance with a mixing ratio (K) to output the current image signal obtained by the mixing and stores this signal in the frame memory 2; a subtractor 4 which extracts a movement component ΔS from both of image signals; a current image LPF part 6A having variable filter characteristics; and a motion determination control part 5. The motion determination control part 5 and the current image LPF part 6A receive a gain value G of image signals or a control signal CS relating to the gain value G, from the outside, and at least one of a threshold TH for determination in the motion determination control part 5 and filter characteristics of the current image LPF part 6A is controlled in accordance with the gain value G and the control signal CS.
