PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition which can be injection-molded despite a high plant material content of 40-95 mass% in a thermoplastic elastomer, and to provide a method for producing the thermoplastic resin composition and a method for producing a molded product using the same. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition comprises a plant material and the thermoplastic elastomer, and based on the total, 100 mass%, of the plant material and the thermoplastic elastomer, the content of the plant material is 50-95 mass%. The method for producing the thermoplastic resin composition has a mixing process for mixing the plant material (a kenaf core and the like) with the thermoplastic elastomer (an olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer and the like) having Shore hardness of more than 50 and not more than 90 while melting it, and a pelletization process for pressing and solidifying the resulting mixture to obtain pellets.
