<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve shortening of warming-up time in a fixing device where a fixing belt is subjected to induction heating. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a guide plate 156 guiding an endless fixing belt 155 in a circulating direction by coming into contact with the back of the fixing belt 155 on the inside of a circulating path of the fixing belt 155, and a magnetic flux generation part 170 arranged at a position opposed to the guide plate 156 across the fixing belt on the outside of the circulating path and generating magnetic flux. The fixing belt 155 includes a heating layer 155c generating heat by the magnetic flux, and a magnetic shunt alloy layer 155d that changes from a ferromagnetic state to a non-magnetic state when its temperature exceeds predetermined temperature. The guide plate 156 includes a low resistance conductive layer, and includes a thick part 156a larger in thickness than a center part at least at one of both ends in the circulating direction.
