PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a reference line automatically if the need for displaying the reference line is high, otherwise not to display the reference line automatically. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes a means for displaying the image formed by an optical system, a means 12 for detecting the longitude and latitude information, and a reference line display means 18 for overlappingly displaying the reference line in the image formed by an optical system based on the longitude and latitude information detected by the detection means 12, and map data 16 including the information about the geography corresponding to the longitude and latitude.
