<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing oxide-coated copper particulates with an extremely thin coating layer having excellent oxidation resistance, which can maintain the excellent properties of copper such as electrical conductivity and metallic luster while relaxing its properties that it is easy to be oxidized. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method comprises: a step (A) where copper particulates with a coating layer (c) composed of a hydroxide essentially consisting of an aluminum hydroxide are formed from an aqueous suspension comprising copper particulates using a coating liquid containing aluminum salt and a hydrogen peroxide solution under specified conditions; a step (B) where the copper particulates with the coating layer (c) are subjected to solid-liquid separation, and are subjected to drying treatment; and a step (C) where the coating layer (c) is thermally decomposed under specified conditions.
