The circuit has a fuse unit (TS) and a circuit (WS) that are formed such that a voltage pulse is generated in case of voltage reversal and overvoltage based on temporal current change arising at a connection of circuit and transmission ratio of transformers. The unit and the circuit are further formed such that a separation of electronic circuit arrangement from a power supply unit is accomplished based on the voltage pulse. An independent claim is also included for a method of protecting an electronic circuit arrangement before breakdown during voltage reversal of a connected power supply unit or during overvoltage.
