A magnetic head slider is characterized in that thermal expansion resistors heated by application of electric current onto them are buried in the rear surface of the body of the slider on the side opposite to the ABS surface thereof with their end surfaces exposed to the outside. The shape of the ABS surface of the magnetic head slider can be controlled by applying electric current to the thermal expansion resistors formed on the magnetic head slider and controlling the thermal expansion amount of the thermal expansion resistors, thereby accurately controlling the floatation amount of the magnetic head slider.
|
