<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of inhibiting the deterioration of a catalyst layer of a fuel cell caused by the intrusion of air when the system is not operated and moreover relatively economical and reduced in failures. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system 1 has a fuel cell 2 and an exhaust passage 32 for flowing exhaust gas and water from a cathode electrode of the fuel cell 2 and further has a water sealing part 34 for storing the water generated in the fuel cell 2 and blocking at least a part of the exhaust passage 32. In the case that an external temperature in a state that the exhaust passage 32 is blocked by the water stored in the water sealing part 34 becomes lower than a predetermined threshold, a gas supply source 33 is made to work and gas is supplied to the cathode electrode of the fuel cell 2 to exhaust the stored water in the water sealing part 34 and the block of the exhaust passage 32 is released. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
