<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting apparatus for wavelength-converting light irradiated from a light-emitting element with a phosphor to extract it to the outside thereof, in which the performance of wavelength conversion is maintained over a long period by suppressing the degradation of a phosphor or a sealant. <P>SOLUTION: This semiconductor light-emitting apparatus 10 comprises a semiconductor light-emitting element 13 for emitting light, in a region extending from ultraviolet to near-ultraviolet, and a sealing portion 15 sealing the semiconductor light-emitting element 13. The semiconductor light-emitting element 13 has an area for light-emitting face of 0.2 mm<SP>2</SP>or smaller and has directionality characteristics, such that the maximum peak of the relative light-emitting strength exists in a range of from 15° or larger to 75° or smaller, relative to the light-emitting face. The sealing portion 15 has a light guide layer 16 for sealing the semiconductor light-emitting element 13 and a phosphor-containing layer 17 formed covering the light guiding layer 16. The light guide layer 16 has a thickness of 0.10 mm or larger, from the top face of the semiconductor light-emitting element 13. The phosphor-containing layer 17 contains a phosphor excited by the light lies inside a region, from ultraviolet to near ultraviolet, and the phosphor content thereof is in a range of 5 to 30% by weight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
