<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fold and tear caused by perforation or the broken line of paper without requiring special constitution even when paper having an easy-to-fold part by pressure in a fixing process or the like such as paper with perforation and paper with a broken line or the like is used as paper to be used. <P>SOLUTION: When the paper with the perforation or the broken line only in one direction is set in a tray, the image forming apparatus instructs a user to select the kind of paper and further to set the direction of the easy-to-fold part to a direction that is not parallel with the nip of a pressure part by using a panel. Furthermore, when it is paper with perforation or broken lines in cross shape, the image forming apparatus instructs the user to set the side parallel with the nip direction of the pressure part to be a longer side in length of the paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
