<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comonomer for production of polycarbonate resin comprising a high-purity diester diol, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The comonomer for production of a polycarbonate resin is represented by the general formula (I), wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each independently represents a 1-3C alkyl group, Y represents a 2-15C linear or branched alkylene group, p and q each independently represents an integer of 0-4, respectively, r represents an integer of 2-450, and has a tin content (as an element) of not more than 10 ppm. The present invention is a method for producing a comonomer for production of a polycarbonate resin having a tin content (as an element) of not more than 10 ppm by esterification or transesterfication reaction of hydroxybenzoic acid alkyl esters and polyalkylene ether glycol in the presence of a tin-based catalyst to obtain a reaction mixture containing a compound represented by the general formula (I), followed by a treatment of the reaction mixture with an aqueous phosphoric acid solution or a solid adsorbent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
