<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and safely execute inspection of an elevator emergency stop device for generating emergency stop action instruction by a speed signal from a speed sensor installed on a car in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: A car speed detection device 6 is installed on the car 1, and the car is stopped at an upper end position by a limit switch 10 provided on an upper part of a hoistway 3. A circular disk 13 is installed at the hoistway side so as to be adjusted to a height position of the car speed detection device 6 at that time, and the circular disk 13 is rotated to give a false speed.
