PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a nozzle from drying without providing an exclusive standby vessel or mechanism for injecting a solvent into a standby vessel. SOLUTION: An ink filling device 100 includes a nozzle mechanism part 5 and a hollow needle for injecting ink 3 into a cartridge and a waste liquid tank 1 into which the ink 3 is discarded. The ink filling device 100 inserts the nozzle mechanism part 5 and the hollow needle into the waste liquid tank 1 when not injecting the ink 3 into the cartridge via the nozzle mechanism part 5 and the hollow needle.
