PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an amount of data of long term ephemeris prediction. SOLUTION: In a positioning system 1, a mobile phone 2 transmits to a server system 3 a first demand signal including a use zone and a second demand signal including a latest measured position. A server system 3 transmits to a source of demand, the mobile phone 2, in case of receiving the first demand signal, long term ephemeris prediction of a zone corresponding to the use zone included in the first demand signal. The server system 3 further transmits to a source of demand, the mobile phone 2, in case of receiving the second demand signal, long term ephemeris prediction of a zone where the latest measured position included in the second demand signal belongs to. The mobile phone 2 receives the long term ephemeris prediction from the server system 3, and performs positioning by carrying out a predetermined positioning operation using the long term ephemeris prediction.
