PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas filling method and a gas filling device capable of shortening gas filling time and effectively filling gas while suppressing a temperature rise in a filled tank. SOLUTION: A residual gas pressure in a fuel tank is measured by a pressure sensor, and a temperature in the fuel tank is measured (estimated) by a temperature sensor, and a pressure rise rate in the fuel tank during filling of the gas is set by the measured values of the residual gas pressure and the temperature in the fuel tank by a control device, and thereby, the gas filling time can be shortened and the gas can be effectively filled while suppressing temperature rise (maximum value) in the fuel tank.
