PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning device capable of efficiently heating a deflector and the inside of an optical housing as needed, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The optical scanning device includes: a light deflector which is disposed, facing an opening part provided in an optical housing; a temperature adjustment means for feeding a medium to the light deflector, which is provided in a position opposed to the light deflector without contact therewith; a plate-like support member which has an opening formed thereon for passing the medium; the temperature adjustment means supported by the support member; and a plate-like member having recessed and protruding parts. The temperature adjustment means is placed on the protruding part above the support member surface having the opening, the temperature adjustment means is closely fitted to the upper surface of the protruding part while the lower surface of the temperature adjustment means is separated from the recessed part.
