PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic optical fiber cable in which increase of a transmission loss in an environment of high temperature is a little, heat resistance for a long period of time is excellent, and which has high flexibility and is easy to be handled. SOLUTION: The plastic optical fiber cable has: a plastic optical fiber strand having a core and a clad layer; and a coating layer provided on the outer periphery of the optical fiber strand. The coating layer includes sequentially from the inside thereof: a light shielding coating layer; a functional coating layer (C); and a functional coating layer (D). The functional coating layer (C) comprises: a resin composition mainly consisting of a polybutylene terephthalate-based resin or a resin composition (I) that is a resin composition mainly consisting of an ethylene-vinylalcohol copolymer.
