<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a planar fuse with small dispersion in fuse characteristics, allowing easy confirmation when the fuse is fused, and mountable to a fuse terminal equipped in a flexible printed wiring board, and to provide a fuse obtained by using the method for manufacturing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A fuse body is formed by providing a projecting one face side first terminal component 14 and one face side second terminal component 15 comprising copper or a copper alloy on a surface of a fuse metal layer 21 of a compound clad metal while laminating the fuse metal layers and copper layers, providing an etching resist layer on surfaces of the copper layers of the one face side terminal components with the compound clad metal, and carrying out copper etching. By removing the etching resist layer, and forming another face side first terminal component 16 and another face side second terminal component 17 in another face side of the fuse metal layer, a first terminal part 12 and a second terminal part 13 are formed, and the planar fuse 1 is formed, equipped with the first terminal part and the second terminal part in both ends of the fuse body.
