PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved dressing method for a cutting blade, which is applicable for any blade without being restricted to a conductive blade, requires no additional units for dressing, and easily dresses a shape of a blade edge. SOLUTION: A dresser board 68 is cut by moving the cutting blade 48 in the axis direction of its rotation. The dressing method for a cutting blade includes: a dresser board retention step of retaining the dresser board on a chuck table 22; and a dressing step of making the cutting blade move to a designated cutting position against the dresser board by moving a spindle 46 in a third direction by a third movement means while rotating the spindle 46 and making the spindle 46 relatively move in a second direction against the chuck table 22 by a second movement means, and of cutting the dresser board by the cutting blade.
