PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid supplying device which can attain miniaturization and cost reduction by a simple structure, and to provide a printer. SOLUTION: The ink supplying device has a subtank 45 which draws the ink from an ink cartridge, an inkjet head to which the ink is supplied from the subtank 45, and a carriage which moves the inkjet head. The subtank 45 has a capacity-variable ink chamber 50 which is loaded on the carriage and moved together with the carriage and equipped with an expanding mechanism 52 which draws in the ink from the ink cartridge by expanding the ink chamber 50 b the movement of a piston 54 moved via a tension coil spring 57 when the carriage moves.
