<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll bearing for CT scanner which can achieve the elongation of the service life while suppressing the generation of poor sounds resulting from vibrations or impacts. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A ball 13 which constitutes a four-point contact ball bearing 1 freely rotatably supports a rotary stand, on which the X-ray protection section of a CT scanner is installed, with respect to a fixed stand which is arranged to be confronted with the rotary stand. The ball 13 is constituted of a sintered body having a β sialon which is represented by a nominal composition of Si<SB>6-Z</SB>Al<SB>Z</SB>O<SB>Z</SB>N<SB>8-Z</SB>and satisfies 0.1≤z≤3.5 as the major component, and consisting of a remainder impurity.
