The dyes are of formula:- (in which X is -H, Cl, Br, CN, CH3SO2, COOH, carbalkoxyl, carbonamide, or N-substd. carbonamide; Y is H, Cl, Br, NO2, CN, CH3SO2, CH3, OCH3, phenylazo, COOH, carboalkoxy, carbonamide, N-substd. carbonamide, Acetyl, benzoyl, sulphonamide, N-substd. sulphonamide, alkyl sulphonate or SO3M; R is 1-18C alkyl, 2-3C chlor- or brom-alkyl, 2-6C hydroxyalkyl, 3-11C alkoxyalkyl, 3-18C acyloxyalkyl, 2-6C carboxyalkyl, 3-11C carbalkoxyalkyl, 2-11C carbon-amido alkyl, 3-9C alkanoylaminoalkyl, 9-13C benzoylaminoalkyl, 2-6C cyanalkyl, 4-8C polyglycol, cycloalkyl, opt. substd. aralkyl, phenyl, naphthyl or other specified groups; M is H, Na, K or NH4; p is 0, 1 or 2; when Y is not -SO3M, p is not 0). They are greenish-yellow to orange and give polyamides or polyurethanes, strong clear colours with good general fastness esp. light and water.
