<p>Guide rollers are provided to give a guide for the welding assembly on its mobile mounting to follow the required welding line, and execute a compensating manoeuvre should the welding head stray on a deviating course. In compensating, an over-correction is applied, calling for a smaller reverse correction, which imparts a spiral motion to the welding burners, which improves the welded seam quality. The purpose is to provided an accurate welding system for handling long 20m plates such as in the shipbuilding industry.</p> |
