PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder composition for electrode manufacturing for giving a lithium secondary battery superior in charge and discharge characteristics even after high-temperature preservation.

SOLUTION: An electrode for a lithium secondary battery is manufactured with the use of a binder composition containing an organic liquid substance, hydroxy alkyl etherification starch dissolved in the organic liquid substance and other polymers dissolved in the organic liquid substance.
