PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem on security which is generated by log-in by a following second user when a preceding first user is in a log-in status, while adopting such configurations that a plurality of users are able to simultaneously log in the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is configured to perform authentication processing by comparing user information to be input in response to an authentication request from a user with preliminarily registered information, and to, when the user authentication is successful, put the user in a log-in state, and to display a display screen related with a function which can be operated by the user. When the first user is put in the log-in state, and a second user different from the first user makes an authentication request, the log-in of the second user is permitted or unpermitted according to the height of the security level of the function which is being operated by the first user.
