SPLIT TYPE CONJUGATE FIBER, FIBER STRUCTURE AND NONWOVEN FABRIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split type conjugate fiber composed of a polylactic acid and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, a fiber structure and a nonwoven fabric. SOLUTION: The split type conjugate fiber includes a first component 1 containing≥50 mass% of a polylactic acid and a second component 2 containing≥50 mass% of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, wherein the first component 1 and the second component 2 are divided into two or more segments as viewed from a fiber cross section and wherein at least parts of the first component 1 and the second component 2 are exposed to the surface of the conjugate fiber. The split type conjugate fiber has excellent splittability. The fiber, the fiber structure and the nonwoven fabric composed of the fiber have soft feel caused by extra fine fiber.
