PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter capable of reducing conduction loss of switching element. SOLUTION: The power converter 1 is provided with an input part 3, an output part 5, capacitors C1, C2 connected in series, a first energization control element SW1, a second energization control element SW2, a third energization control element SW3, a forth energization control element SW4, and a control circuit part 7 for controlling the on/off operations of the energization control elements. The first energization control element SW1 and the forth energization control element SW4 are provided with a first route for unidirectionally conducting a current between the input part 3 and the output part 5, a second route having a switching function for conducting and interrupting a current between the input part 3 and the output part 5.
