PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat apparatus of which the reclining lock can be released by a comparatively simple constitution. SOLUTION: This seat apparatus is equipped with a reclining apparatus which is connected through a connecting rod 6, and a power assisting mechanism 4. The power assisting mechanism 4 is equipped with a motor M, a tiltable seat back side bracket 43, a sector gear 44 which is turnable in response to the rotating direction of the motor M, and a rod gear 51 which is integrally and turnably installed on the connecting rod 6. The power assisting mechanism 4 is also equipped with a lever gear 52 which has a gear section 52a being engageable with the rod gear 51, and an engaging section 53 being fastenable with the sector gear 44, and at the same time, is turnably installed in order to transmit the turning of the sector gear 44 to the rod gear 51. The lever gear 52 and the rod gear 51 turn the connecting rod 6 in a direction to release the locked state of the reclining apparatus conforming to the turning of the sector gear 44 in response to the reverse rotation of the motor by cooperating with each other.
