SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SENSING FAULT OF BRUSHLESS DIRECT CURRENT MOTOR HALL SENSOR OF AIR CLEANER

PURPOSE: A system and a method for sensing the fault of a hall sensor of a BLDC motor in an air cleaner are provided to deal with the fault of the hall sensor by informing the fault of the hall sensor through a message or alarm. CONSTITUTION: A pulse signal sensing unit(310) senses a pulse signal of a BLDC motor. A time check unit(320) checks the time from a specific rising edge to an initial falling edge and an initial rising edge in a pulse signal. A duty ratio calculator(330) calculates a duty ratio by dividing the time from the specific rising edge to the initial falling edge by the time from the specific rising edge to the initial rising edge. If the calculated duty ratio is higher than the preset duty ratio, a fault determining unit(340) determines the fault of the hall sensor of the BLDC motor.
