PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a smoke exhaustion facility and a smoke exhaustion method securing safety of evacuation by achieving pressure balance between an indoor space where fire has broken out and an outdoor space and facilitating opening of an evacuation door even if it opens outward and are effective while securing airtightness, in particular, in a highly airtight space such as a noise attenuating room. SOLUTION: A projection booth etc. is provided as a small room serving as a space 5 for pressure adjustment communicating a room 1 where fire broke out such as seats of a movie theater with a ventilation duct 6 serving as a ventilation means, and the machine smoke exhaustion facility 2 having smoke vents 2a, 2b simultaneously opened and starting the operation with respect to the room 1 where fire broke out and an evacuation space 3 at the same time is arranged.
