PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thruster with a duct having excellent propulsion efficiency. SOLUTION: The thruster 1 with the duct for ships includes a propeller 5 with its propeller blades 17 being projected outwardly in the radial direction from an outer circumferential surface of a propeller boss 16 connected to a drive source, and a duct 6 arranged to surround the propeller 5. A blade end 20 on the outer side in the radial direction of each propeller blade 17 has a shape locally bent backwardly along an inner circumferential surface of the duct 6. In this constitution, the blade end locally bent backwardly works as a wall to suppress the flow turning around the blade end from the rear side to the front side of each propeller blade.
