METHOD, SYSTEM, RECEIVING END DEVICE AND MULTICAST SOURCE DEVICE FOR MULTICAST PROTECTION

The embodiments in the present invention disclose a method, system, receiving end device and multicast source device for multicast protection used in networks having one working connection and at least one protecting connection. The method comprises: the multicast data is received from the multicast source through the first connection, and the first connection is the current working connection; when a fault occurs in the first connection, a second connection is selected from the at least one protecting connection as a new working connection, thereby the multicast data is received from the multicast source through the second connection. The multicast protection disclosed in the embodiments in the present invention enables fewer network devices and simplified net-establishment, and the net-establishment can be more flexible. The multicast fault is quickly switched by detecting the states of working connection and protecting connection, thus the multicast protection is realized, and it has such advantages as bandwidth-saving, facilitating management for network operators, and high network security.
