Compositions for treating keratinous fibres, especially human hair, comprising in a cosmetically acceptable vehicle (a) at least one betaine compound of the formula (I) or its protonated form, in which R1 is a (C4 toC12) alkyl group, and R2 and R3 each independently are a (C1 to C4) alkyl group, and (b) at least one film-forming and/or setting polymer, the use of the compositions for the temporary shaping of hair and for haircare, in particular as hair mousse.
