<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for stably forming a condenser lens without influenced by roughness of a substrate surface or organic contamination caused by polishing or handling, in a liquid crystal display device having a condenser lens. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a backlight module 510 that emits light; a liquid crystal panel comprising a TFT substrate 507 disposed in the backlight module 510 side, a color filter substrate 502 disposed in an observer's side, and a liquid crystal layer 504 provided between the substrates; and a plurality of condenser lenses 509 disposed between the backlight module 510 and the liquid crystal panel. A transparent flattening layer 508 is formed on the outer surface of the TFT substrate 507 before forming the condenser lenses 509, and the plurality of condenser lenses 509 are formed on the transparent flattening layer 508. As the transparent flattening layer 508 buries recesses and projections on the surface of the TFT substrate 507, the condenser lenses 509 in a stable figure can be formed on the flat transparent flattening layer 508. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
