<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulator device for performing an event at suitable timing according to the state of a subject, and to provide an operation challenge providing method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The simulator device 100 has an operation means 23 which simulates an operation part of a real machine of a vehicle, a movement state determination means 33 which determines the movement state of a virtual vehicle from the subject's operation of the operation means 23, and a display means 22 which displays a pseudo view using a driver's seat as the viewpoint according to the movement state. The simulator device has a subject state detection sensor 24 which detects the consciousness level of the subject, and an operation challenge execution means 36 which determine whether or not an operation challenge using the pseudo view should be provided according to the subject's consciousness level detected by the subject state detection sensor 24.
