PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cyclopropanecarboxylic acid esters using a cooling tube made of a general-purpose material. SOLUTION: The method for producing a cyclopropanecarboxylic acid ester represented by the formula (3) [wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or the like] includes a process for subjecting a cyclopropanecarboxylic acid and a monohydroxy compound represented by the formula (2): R<SP>6</SP>OH (wherein R<SP>6</SP>is an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or the like) to condensation reaction through dehydration by distillation in the presence of an organic solvent, a compound of a group 4 element of the periodic table and an organic base.
