PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a check valve structure of a hydraulic shock absorber, preventing a bridge of a lower valve constituting a check valve from blocking up an oil hole (a round hole) of an upper valve. SOLUTION: In this check valve 20 structure of the hydraulic shock absorber 10, a lower valve 21 and an upper valve 22 are stacked in order and the inner peripheral ends thereof are fixed on a seat surface to which an inner peripheral port 15A and an outer periphery port 15B of a piston 15 are opened. The lower valve 21 includes: a cutout 21C, which is disposed at a part of the outer peripheral end and to which the outer periphery port 15B is communicated; and a plurality of fan-shaped holes 21A, which are disposed in the circumferential direction on the inner periphery side and to which the inner peripheral port 15A is communicated. The upper valve 22 includes a plurality of round holes 22A disposed at equal spaces in the circumferential direction on the inner periphery side and communicated with the fan-shaped holes 21A of the lower valve 21. In this structure, a plurality of bridges 21B provided between the adjacent fan-shaped holes 21A of the lower valve 21 are disposed at unequal spaces in the circumferential direction of the lower valve 21.
