STEEL PLATE PRINTING SYSTEM

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a correct printing on a steel plate positioned toward one side of a steel plate printing area between a pair of rails. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A steel plate printing system is provided with: a steel plate conveyer 2 for carrying a steel plate A to be printed toward one of sides of a steel plate conveyance area AR2; a steel plate positioning device 3 provided between rails 5 on both sides of a steel plate conveyance area AR3 for positioning and stopping the steel plate in parallel to the rails at one of sides of the area; a transverse carriage 7 mounted on a running carrier 6 traveling along the rails and moving transversely in a direction orthogonal to the rails; a plurality of printing heads 8 provided on the transverse carriage; running drivers 22 and 27 for driving the running carrier and also transversely moving the transverse carriage by a predetermined distance every time the printing head passes through the steel plate; and a print controller 31 for controlling the print on the steel plate by each printing head, based on dot print data every time the running carrier travels by the running drivers.
