<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building which enables an article to be housed without being a hindrance to a person's passage and entrance and exit of a vehicle or seriously deteriorating the appearance, even if the article is housed in a passage between the building and adjacent land, or a garage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A storage space 21, which is depressed with respect to an outdoor surface 17b, is formed at a predetermined height from a ground surface 19 in a wall section 17 facing the passage 18 between the building 10 and the adjacent land. An article storage device 20 is installed in the storage space 21. The article storage device 20 is equipped with a storage platform 30 with a placing surface 35d for placing a bicycle 35. The storage platform 30 can be moved between a placing position in which the placing surface 35d is set almost as high as the ground surface 19, and a storage position in which the bicycle 35 is housed in the storage space 21. The storage platform 30 is provided with a cover portion 30c which is elongated upward from an outdoor-side end of a platform portion 30b with the placing surface 35d.
