<p>1310755 Ion exchange ECUDYNE CORP 29 April 1970 [17 June 1969] 20548/70 Heading B1J Water is treated by upward flow through a mixed bed of resins under pressure in vessel 10. Exhausted resin is passed along line 26 to a hopper 28 which periodically empties rapidly into a transfer hopper 44 which empties slowly into a separation column 12 in which the mixed resins are separated according to their densities by water under pressure. The anion and cation resins are regenerated separately in columns 14, 16 and recirculated to vessel 10. The time interval of transfer from transfer zone 44 to separation zone 12 is no less than the shortest time interval in transferring from the second and third metering zones 56 and 57 to said regeneration zones.</p> |
