<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which rapidly notifies a person, carrying out a portable machine from a vehicle, that the portable machine is carried out. <P>SOLUTION: The portable machine determines whether or not a checking signal transmitted from an in-vehicle unit in a periodical manner (at a communication time interval of the order of 2-3 seconds) is received within 10 seconds (S201), and determines the state of an accessory power source of a vehicle and a speed of the vehicle, on the basis of data (the contents of the checking signal received last) stored in a memory (S205), when the checking signal is not received even after a lapse of more than 10 second (S201:No). When it is determined that the speed of the vehicle is 5 km per hour or less in the on-state of the accessory power source (S205:Yes), the checking signal, which has to be essentially received, is not received.
